Indian Army. 40th Pathans Officer's 1922 H/M silver cap badge

A very fine scarce die cast hallmarked silver example. Bearing London hallmarks for 1922 (g) and makers stamp for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company. Circular shield with four bosses superimposed on two crossed Pathan knives; scroll between the handles inscribed PATHANS. Usually sewn on, now with padded pin fitting. VGC
1st Bn. 40th Pathans became 5th Bn 14th Punjab Regt. in 1922.
