A good scarce die stamped blackened brass example. Maltese Cross surmounted by Crowned blank tablet. Circlet inscribed "Pro Patria", strung bugle to solid centre with "16" between the strings. Arms of the cross inscribed "Dorset", "Rifle" and "Voluns" with fasces to bottom arm. Two loops to the reverse. VGC.
Became a Volunteer Batttalion of the Dorset Regiment on 1st of july 1881.  read more
