Sherwood Foresters ( Derbyshire) Edwardian OR's forage cap badge

A fine scarce die stamped bi metal example worn circa 1901-1902. Crowned Maltese cross with ball finials, mounted with gilt oak wreathand scrolls inscribed "Sherwood" , "Foresters" and "Derbyshire". To the unvoided centre, a Stag lodged on ground.Two loops to the reverse. VGC.
In October 1902, the Nottinghamshire association was made explicit, the name changing to the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment)
