Scottish. Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) WW1 Officer glengarry badge

A very fine, three piece, die-stamped silvered and gilt example worn circa 1901-36. Silvered Thistle Star with title scrolls mounted by detachable gilt crowned lacesset oval resting in thistle sprays and Sphinx below; silvered St. Andrew and the Cross to seeded centre. Two of four loops to the reverse. Makers stamp R.&H.B. Kirkwood,66 & 68 Thistle Street, Edinburgh. VGC.
Came with small label stating 'Bought from General Sir John Chapple 12-1-1985'
