London Rifle Brigade Officer’s H/M silver pouch belt plate.

A super scarce hallmarked silver example. Bearing Birmingham hallmarks for 1924 (Z)to the front and more to the back plate.Makers stamp JRG&S (JR Gaunt and Sons) . Within a oak wreath, a circlet inscribed “London Rifle Brigade. South Africa 1900,’02” superimposed on crossed sword and mace; shield with Royal Arms to the centre. Across the base of the wreath, a scroll inscribed “Primus in urbe” with shield from the City of London arms below. Under the Crown, a scroll inscribed “France & Flanders 1914,’18”; beneath the circlet another inscribed “Ypres 1915,’17”; four more honour scrolls to either side of the wreath. Hallmarked silver backing plate and three screw posts to reverse .Mace tip missing otherwise VGC.
